The table configurator is a comprehensive visualization tool for the table tops and frames "“"made to order" by Tischfabrik24, in conjunction with configurable chair models. All parameters, surfaces and dimensions of the tables can be adjusted interactively at any time and are displayed in real time in the 3D view.
A major challenge was the implementation of the large number of frame shapes and their various configuration parameters. All 3D representations of the table tops and frames are calculated at run time, so all dimensions of each individual part can be specified by the user. At the same time, several intelligent background processes ensure that only realistic configurations can be created (e.g. that the possible table top size is limited depending on the selected frame).
The AR functionality integrated in the configurator places the furniture on mobile devices either using a printed marker (Vuforia) or markerless by evaluating the position sensor (gyroscope) of the mobile device. Alternatively, a photo can be selected as the background image for the furniture.
Please note: The table configurator integrated into our homepage in the pop-up window is only a greatly reduced demo version with 12 table tops, 40 frames, no chairs and no AR functionality).

- 30 table tops (square and round, various thicknesses, fixed and variable dimensions, optional tree edges on the long sides)
- 180 frames (table legs, table sides and center feet, variable dimensions and choice of materials)

- The 3D models of the tops and frames are created and modified at runtime
- The size and positioning of the frames is automatically adapted to the selected table top
- All tops and frames can have any number of variable parameters
- Parameters with a value range (min/max) are set using sliders
- Parameters with a selection list are set using drop-down menus or radio buttons
- The textures (wood surfaces) of the panels are mapped to the 3D model true to scale and without distortion
- The 3D view can be freely rotated and zoomed, the furniture can be moved on the virtual floor
- An augmented reality function on mobile devices allows you to place the furniture in your own rooms
- The configurator can be run from desktop PCs (Windows, Mac OSX), in browsers and natively on mobile devices (iOS, Android)
