FAURECIA Canatu door demonstrator
YEAR CREATED: 2017, Client: Faurecia Innenraum Systeme GmbH
In this demonstration model of a driver's door, the mechanical controls for the window regulators, the control of ventilation and heating as well as the massage functions of the seat were replaced by purely capacitive touch sensors.
The sensors consist of 3D-deformable, transparent touch films from Canatu and can therefore be installed above the 2.8" -TFT display for the menu display or above the RGB LEDs for the icon background lighting.
Since the door model has no connection to real windows, a seat or heating/ventilation, an additional 2.4" TFT display was integrated that shows the respective effects of user interactions using graphics and Displays animations.

Demonstrator software functionality
- RGB light animation in the left area (backlight).
- Controlling the icon lighting (RGB LEDs).
- Evaluating touch inputs.
- Graphic output of the menu display on the 2.8" TFT.
- Graphic output of status information and animations on the 2.4" TFT.
